It’s my Dream to play for Ghana Black Stars- Hafiz Wontah Konkoni
In an interview with Tungsung Radio 97.3 in Wa, Upper West Region, the Prolific and Clinical Finisher disclosed he aims at representing his country sooner or later when the opportunity is given after equalling Mezack Afriyie’s 12 goals tally in the betPawa Premier League with a brace against Tamale City last Saturday.
He also heaped praises on Black Stars Coach Chris Hughton for his attention towards the Local League so far, visiting league centers far and near.
Speaking via phone with Dimbie Jamaldeen, Hafiz Konkoni responded his take on his chances with the current Black Stars. “It is every Player’s Dream to wear the National Team jersey and play for them so I hope to get a call-up to the Black Stars one day and contribute to the success of the Team”.
Konkoni has 12 goals to his name this season from 19 matches played for Bechem United who occupy the 4th position after 26 MatchDays.
The deadly Striker relies on his ambidextrous feet and aerial ability to punish opponents and also have a wealth of experience in the Top flight spanning over 5 years.
The Hunters host 3rd placed Accra Hearts of Oak on Saturday (MD 27) at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park with 1 point adrift of the Phobians. A victory will send them above the Capital based side and also complete the double over them.
Hafiz Konkoni will also look to increase his tally against Accra Hearts of Oak after scoring against them at Cape Coast in the first round.
