Football Journey of Maana FC’s newly recruited Forward ‘Tiraah Adams Shakur’
Newly promoted Division One League side Maana FC’s quest for a fruitful stay in their first ever campaign in the 2nd tier of Ghana Football have landed them in acquiring the services of striker Tiraah Adams from Upper West based Division Two side Wa United FC.
The speedster adds experience and productivity to the frontline of Maana FC as he has previously tasted Division One League Football during his spell at Wa Suntaa SC.
The 20 years old forward started playing football at a tender age with friends in his neighborhood, stellar performances at school level resulted in him being picked for U-12 and U-14 inter school tournaments where he excelled with the District and Regional teams.
Known by many as ‘Shakur’, he started playing competitive club Football for Tumu Happy Stars in the Upper West Regional Division Two League in 2015 after successful Football Tournaments in High School where He was a key figure in the school Team of Wa Senior High.
His stint with Tumu Happy Stars attracted a lot of interest from Top tier clubs in the Region and beyond, finally Ghana Premier League side Wa All Stars FC won the race to sign Him as part of their youth project. At the Premier League side he gained a call up to the National U-17 training camp but unfortunately missed out on the main tournament due to a leg fracture that sidelined him for over two years.
Tiraah Adams has however regained his full fitness in the past seasons and signed for Wa Suntaa SC for the 2019/20 season which was disrupted by Covid-19.
He reunited with former Coach Kandumah John at newly formed Division Two side Wa United FC in his new destination and came close to qualifying them into the Division One League during both seasons.
In his first season at the club they finished runners up in the Upper West Regional Division Two league narrowly losing the final 1-0 to the eventual Champions and scoring crucial goals on the way whiles also securing FA Cup football the following season.
In the 2021/2022 season, Tiraah Adams led Wa United FC into the Middle league once more but his unavailability in the opening games contributed to his side’s poor start which resulted in them finishing 4th this time around, which secured them another season in the MTN FA Cup.
Tiraah Adams ended his second campaign with 8 goals and 7 assists which aided Wa United to secure Middle league qualification earlier than expected.
A 15 goal contribution in just 14 appearances attracted a lot of interest in the forward, Maana FC won the race to sign him this time around as they strengthen for Division One League Zone 1B.
