Ghana to play Nigeria in an all West African World Cup playoff tie

The senior men’s National Team Black Stars have finally uncovered their opponents for the CAF World Cup playoffs set for March this year.

The draw was held in Cameroon where the ongoing AFCON 2021 is played.

Ghana will go into the game in the wake of poor outing in the AFCON 2021, while Nigeria are the best team in the Tournament and the only side with 100% record.

The last time Ghana lost to Nigeria was at AFCON 2006.

Since then the Stars have gone undefeated in 4 games with their noisy neighbors, winning 3 and a friendly goalless draw the last time they met.

Ghana knocked out Nigeria in the quarter finals of the 2008 and 2010 AFCON and goes into the fixture with a bit of history on their side, first leg will be played in Ghana before a short trip to Nigeria for the return leg.
