ANTHONY ANNAN TO CONTINUE AT INTER TURKU IN A NEW ROLE
Anthony Annan, who represented FC Inter in the seasons 2019 and 2020, will also be seen in the Inter-shirt this year.
The club and the Ghanaian player have signed a one-year contract, with which the experienced Annan will be seen not only on the playing field but also in coaching positions for young people. Annan, who was chosen as the midfielder of 2017 in the Veikkausliiga in the HJK shirt, moved to Inter in the middle of the 2019 season from Israel.
In total, the 34-year-old has accumulated 22 league matches at Inter, but Annan has the greatest achievements from abroad. In his long career, the Ghanaian has played in the main series of Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and Norway.
He has also played in 64 national matches as well as in the 2010 World Cup finals. Representation of the team’s head coach Jose Riveiro says, particularly as regards the second half of last season he was assured Annan to extend his contract.
Anthony is a confident midfielder and he showed his skills are still maintained in many matches of the final season. He is a top professional and has a lot to offer both on and off the field, Riveiro mentions. Ves’s Mäki, Inter’s technical director, is delighted to have one of the most meritorious players in the Finnish fields involved in coaching. – Anthony also wants to think about the time after his career as a player.
In the further negotiations, we quickly found a solution that was of interest to both parties, where Inter’s developer of coaching skills, Mika Hemmilä, supports Anthony’s coaching training.
At the same time, Anthony will be able to implement and develop practical skills in Inter’s youth coaching. It has not yet been agreed with which team, but it will be clear in the near future, Mäki explains. With the Annan agreement, Inter’s representative team currently has 19 contract players.
