PRESIDENT CUP: GHALCA Proposed Dates for Replay of Kotoko vs Hearts Fixture

The Ghana League Club Association (GHALCA) have proposed dates for the replay of this year’s President’s Cup between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.

Last Sunday the game was called off due to heavy downpour in Kumasi. The fixture was delayed for close to 30 minutes and was eventually stopped by referee Bernard Dumfe just 10 minutes into the game due to the soggy nature of the pitch.

Kotoko has a CAF Champions League tie with Etoile Du Sahel and information coming out from their camp is that they can only honor the match after the double tie with the Tunisian side.

GHALCA Chairman Kudjoe Fianoo sort of confirms the rumors as he revealed that they have proposed 6th and 13th October for the replay of the game, considering Asante Kotoko’s participation in the CAF Champions League.

He also hinted that there might be a change of venue if the Kumasi Sports Stadium will not be available.

“There could be a change of venue if the Baba Yara stadium will not be available because the stadium was supposed to be closed for renovations but for Kotoko’s participation in Africa”

He added the Accra sports stadium will be the next venue if otherwise. Mr. Fianoo spoke to Oyerepa fm.
