Accra Hearts of Oak celebrates 109 years of existence
The former African champions are celebrating their 109th anniversary, after the Club was formed on 11/11/1911.
The 20 times Ghana Premier League champions are preparing for the upcoming campaign which kick starts with a trip to Dormaa to play Aduana Stars. Hearts will be hoping to secure a win to climax the anniversary.
Hearts of Oak have won the Africa Champions league once, winning the CAF Champions League in the year 2000 completing a historic treble.
They were the first club to win the first CAF Confederation Cup after beating arch rivals Asante Kotoko to win the coveted trophy in 2004.
Hearts of Oak are ten times FA Cup champions, the record holder of the title.
The team is coached by Edward Nii Odoom and have not won the league since 2008/2009 season.
