SUPER CLASH: Asante Kotoko Vs Hearts of Oak game Postponed Indefinitely

The much anticipated derby game between the two most glorious clubs in Ghana Kotoko and Hearts was called off.

The Presidential Cup game was called due to a heavy downpour at the Kumasi Sports Stadium on Sunday, 8 September.

The game which was originally scheduled to start at 3pm was delayed for about 30 minutes before the two finally made their way onto the soggy pitch.

After close to about 10 minutes of proceedings the center referee halted the game because the ball was not moving with the normal pace whenever it was struck as the over-moist grass surface keeps suppressing the speed of the ball.

Contrary to information that the game will be played on Monday, September 9, the organizers could not fix a date for the game.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko will host Etoile Du Sahel in the Round 1 of the 2019/20 CAF Champions League on same venue in six days time and believe playing Hearts on Monday will jeopardize their preparations.

It is rumored the Porcupine Warriors will only honor the game after playing both legs of the CAF Champions League tie against the Tunisian top flight.
