AFRIYIE WANTS TO LEAD BLACK SATELLITES TO SUCCESS
Forward Daniel Afriyie Barnie said he wants to lead the national U-20 side, the Black Satellites to success in their upcoming international assignments.
The Accra Hearts of Oak player is part of the team in camp at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Technical Centre in Prampram as they prepare for the 2020 WAFU Zone B Cup of Nations in Togo next month.
And Afriyie who is the captain of the team, said, he is determined to lead the team to success starting with the upcoming WAFU tourney in neigbouring Togo.
“As the captain of the side, I am eager to ensure that we achieve success in the tournament in Togo as well as all the other international assignments that we will be engaged in from next year”, Afriyie said.
“We have been in camp for over a month now preparing for the WAFU tornament, and, our technical team have been of greeat assistance to us, taking us through our paces.”
“With what I have observed so far, I can confidently conclude that all the boys in camp are focued on the task ahead and, I am confident that we will return to Ghana with the trophy at the end of it all”.
Coach of the side, Addul Karim Zito has been impressed with the quality at his disposal and is hopeful of leading his charges to success in Togo next month.
“So far so good. What we are doing as a technical team is to raise their conditioning and, we have been impressed with what we have seen so far”, Coach Zito ssid.
“We expect the WAFU tournament to be tough but, Ghana is also a top team to play against at this level and, we intend to go to Togo to prove that”, he added.
In their most recent friendly, the Black Satellites beat Ghana Premier League outfit Karela United FC 2-0 in a training encounter played at Prampram.
