Ghanaian forward Kwesi Appiah has joined Indian top flight side NorthEast United FC ahead of the new season

The former Black Stars attacker joined the club on free transfer after leaving English side AFC Wimbledon following the expiration of his contract in June

Kwesi Appiah is set to link up with former Black Stars assistant coach Gerard Nus who is now the head coach of NorthEast United FC

Kwesi Appiah featured for the national team at the 2015 African Cup of Nations in Gabon where the Black Stars led by ex Portsmouth coach Avram Grant lost the finals on penalties to Ivory Coast

The forward netted 4 goals with an assist for AFC Wimbledon in 21 appearances in all competitions

Kwesi Appiah has had stints at Crystal Palace, Notts County, Cambridge United, Reading FC, Yeovil Town among others before his move to India
