VfL Bochum 1848 signs Ghanaian midfielder Raman Chibsah
The 27-year old last played for Turkish Süper Lig club Gaziantep FK and is moving to Castroper Straße free of charge. Previously, Chibsah, who was transferred from Ghana to Italy in 2009, had been active in Serie A and Serie B for many years.
The player has two senior appearances, and is contracted until June 30, 2022. His career started at Ghanaian Club Bechem United.
At the age of 16, Chibsah moved from Bechem to Italy. The first point of contact was US Sassuolo Calcio, later he went through the U19 at Juventus Turin. He returned to Sassuolo via FC Parma, and in 2013 he was promoted to Serie A for the first time with the US Sassuolo.
He also played with his other clubs, Benevento Calcio and Frosinone Calcio, in Italy’s top league after promotion. There are also 24 appearances in the Turkish Süper Lig, which Chibsah recorded for Gaziantep FK last season.
“In Raman Chibsah we are gaining a midfielder who is mainly in the head office, who is also a sure-footed player and strong in tackling,” says Sebastian Schindzielorz, Managing Director / Sport at VfL Bochum 1848. “He has international experience, is dynamic and, due to his past, in Italy had good tactical training.”
Raman Chibsah himself is “very, very happy that I was able to join VfL Bochum. The people in charge have convinced me of VfL. Now I want to get to know my new teammates as soon as possible.”
