2019 WAFU CUP: Gaffer Maxwell Konadu Wins Best Coach of the Tournament

Coach Maxwell Konadu has been named coach of the just ended 2019 ESPN WAFU Cup after leading the Ghana to the finals.

The Black Stars ‘B’ lost to the host nation Senegal on penalty shootouts after 120 minutes of a 1-1 draw.

The former Asante Kotoko gaffer holds an impressive record of reaching three successive WAFU Cup finals, winning two and losing one in the process.

The 2015 and 2017 tournaments were all won by Ghana under the tutelage of coach Maxwell Konadu.

Ghana defeated The Gambia, Burkina Faso, and Ivory coast respectively before to book a place in the grand finale but eventually losing to Senegal.

The tournament also saw forward Shafiu Mumuni winning the Golden Boot award after bagging four goals.
