2019 IAAF: Ghana Contingent Yet to Receive a Dime from Government
The 2019 IAAF in Doha is almost coming to an end and yet the Ghana Athletics team has not received a penny from the government of Ghana.
No funds were released for their preparations towards the competition and just a few days to end the championships, the contingent is yet to receive a dime from the government.
Captain Flings Owusu Agyapong berated the lack of support and attention from the government.
“It’s sad that the Ministry never released funds for us to prepare adequately ahead of the competition. We haven’t also received any per diems from the Youth and Sports Ministry.”
She however stated they are still positive and will not allow that to affect their output as they remained resolute to put Ghana’s name on the globe.
Ghana will compete in both men and women 4×100 relay on Friday.
